We are a Danish family of 4 outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts who have enjoyed traveling and exploring all of our lives. Mom, dad, Asta, 11 years and Emil, 8 years old.
We consider ourselves fortunate to live in Denmark – a small country with lots of cultural experiences and plenty of beautiful and accessible nature. We try to go exploring whenever we can. Whether it’s going for a walk in our local forest just down the road or strolling by a lake, we enjoy being outside as much as we can. We also love going to the beach or exploring some of the many miles of the Danish coastline.
We love to travel as a family
We love to go abroad as well – the list of places we have been is long and our bucket list is even longer and keeps expanding!
Between us, we have visited about 45 countries – most of them together as a couple, and roughly 22 of them on 5 continents with our kids.
Ever since our kids were small babies we have taken them on family trips abroad. Sometimes we have been driving through Europe, and other times flying to exotic islands in the Caribbean or the Indian Ocean.
We have also been backpacking through Cambodia and Vietnam as a family. And we have even spent 2 months on leave when our son was 7 months and our daughter 3 years old driving through New Zealand and exploring that beautiful part of the world.
Since summer of 2023, we have been on leave from our jobs to travel the world as a family. Yeah! We call it our FAMILY GAP YEAR. Here you can read about our reasons for going on a gap year as a family.
