What Our Family Bucket List Looks Like

Is your family looking for new travel destinations to explore? Even with all the places we have already been, we have a looong family bucket list for travel! And it keeps expanding every time we go. Read on to see where we dream about going or doing as a family and some of the amazing things we have already done.

What is a bucket list?

A bucket list is a personal and often aspirational list of experiences, goals, or achievements that people wish to accomplish during their lifetime. It typically includes a wide range of activities, from traveling to specific destinations, trying adventurous or unique activities, achieving career milestones, or even personal development objectives.

The term “bucket list” is derived from the phrase “kicking the bucket,” which is a euphemism for dying. Creating a bucket list serves as a way to prioritize and keep track of your desires and dreams, encouraging people to actively pursue their passions and make the most of their time. It can be a motivating tool to challenge yourself, embrace new experiences and keeping yourself accountable for your dreams.

Types of bucket lists

There are many types of bucket lists but here are 10 different types that people often create:

  1. Travel Bucket List: This includes destinations and experiences you want to have all around the world, such as visiting specific countries, landmarks, or experiencing different cultures.
  2. Adventure Bucket List: It’s filled with thrilling and adrenaline-pumping activities like skydiving, bungee jumping, or climbing a challenging mountain.
  3. Career Goals Bucket List: This list focuses on professional achievements and career milestones you hope to reach, such as landing your dream job, starting a successful business, or publishing a book.
  4. Personal Development Bucket List: It includes self-improvement goals like learning a new language, acquiring a skill, or completing a degree.
  5. Culinary Bucket List: This list is for food enthusiasts, featuring unique dishes and restaurants you want to try, as well as cooking or baking goals.
  6. Family and Relationships Bucket List: It involves goals related to spending quality time with family and friends, like going on a family vacation or strengthening relationships.
  7. Charity and Giving Back Bucket List: It includes acts of kindness and charitable endeavors you want to participate in, such as volunteering, donating, or organizing a fundraiser.
  8. Fitness and Health Bucket List: This list comprises fitness and wellness goals, like running a marathon, achieving a specific fitness level, or maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  9. Cultural and Artistic Bucket List: It’s filled with artistic and cultural experiences, like attending a major music festival, visiting renowned museums, or exploring different art forms.
  10. Bucket List for Learning: This list consists of acquiring knowledge and educational goals, such as reading a set number of books, taking specific courses, or mastering a subject.

These are just a few examples, and you can of course make a bucket list based on any of your interests and aspirations.
